The first walk in the snow!

Another turning point in the year. The snow falls and settles and doesn't melt. Is this the start of the snowy winter? Or will it retreat away again?
We wandered down to the lake and admired the snow on the ice. What a contrast to the dark water. Because there's so little snow it picks out the lines of the autumn harvest in the fields, see the extra, and appears to be deepest on the roads!
I love the way the sky is dark and the land bright, the opposite of summer and autumn.
I love winter, even with all the challenges it brings. It is just so beautiful.
