Beech Leaves

The plan was to pick up a passing steam train today - if only so I could put "Two(t) Two(t)" as the title on this palindromic date. And for extra points I might have posted it at eleven minutes past ten, tonight*

However, the Fates had other ideas. The road to Stroud was so full of chaotic roadworks and road closures and trails of frustrated traffic (mainly, it was the drivers that were frustrated; the cars and lorries were mostly relaxed about the whole situation). The passing times from RealTimeTrains were also not being updated, ad in the end I realised the train was either running very late or had broken down. We turned back.

Atop the Cotswold escarpment the sunshine was so bright and the sky so blue we decided to stop for a while, and this stand of beech trees frames beautifully the golden light striking these leaves. That'll do, donkey.

*22:11,22.11.22, ok?
(I do appreciate for our American friends it might be 11.22.22, and therefore you have posted at twenty-two minutes past.)
