Just Me And My Shadow

Well not quite, mrsfb was there too, on the other side of the road actually, exchanging waves with a car driver who had appreciated her stepping up on to the verge.

We had a pleasant walk along Happy Valley this afternoon, quite sunny but also quite chilly.

Camera club was interesting last night. It was a very long meeting with 4 presentations about Lightroom. The first two, on the Library module, just convinced me even more than I'm unlikely to get along with the organisational aspects of Lightroom. It seems so much more fiddly and complicated than the simplicity of the Elements albums that I know and love. On the other hand the two presentations on the Develop module made me think I ought to have another look at it, especially the new AI masking bits. I'm tempted by the Black Friday Amazon pricing of £72 for a year, and I'm also still in discussions with Flickr about the two months free Lightroom trial that was supposed to be perk of taking out a 2 year subscription back in April.

In other news my new (to me) modem/router arrived yesterday. It took a bit of working out but I've got it up and running now. The previous owner had left it locked with his own user name and password, so it took me a while to figure out how to reset it. I'll use it for a while and if it's no more stable than the BT supplied one I'll probably sell it again on eBay.

I've also been busy in the garden this afternoon. I had a text from Thames Water saying our hosepipe ban has been lifted so I decided to empty and clean out the water feature for the winter. It didn't take me very long and I was kept company by a lovely robin who decided to serenade me while I did it.

It looks as though both daughters will be with us for Christmas so I cancelled the medium turkey I ordered but kept the large one. I hope we don't get let down. Daughter#1 also informed us that grandson Rory has now been trained to prepare gin and tonics, so as well as grinding coffee beans he is becoming indispensable!
