Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2022 Monday — Late Afternoon

As the Monday sun sank into the Pacific Ocean we hurried up the path of our newly remodeled backyard to watch and to oooh and aaah! The entire event was quite spectacular. The warmth of the flames from the fire pit helped to remove the chill in the air.

Just before it was completely dark, I picked-up little Chloe who is very afraid of the ramp portion of our path and I carried her down the hill to our cement patio which is at house level. Little Mitzi loves running up and down the ramp. Just as I got to the cement of the patio, I saw the sparkly solar lights. I had surprised Mr. Fun and purchased those lights while the backyard construction was still happening. I had no idea how much I would like them; now I want to get more of them.

Once I got inside the house to take a look at the view from our living room, I got my first glance at the new house on the street below us as it was all lit-up. The house is still being built and the lights were only on for just a brief few moments, but illumination proved what I had been thinking — it’s exterior design is beautiful from our angle. Don’t you think so too? The ocean side of the house has a long viewing deck that I know the owners are going to thoroughly enjoy.

Once it was dark, I got busy preparing dinner; a casserole called “Russian Fluff” that I learned when I was a youngster from my step-grandma who lived in Florida and came to visit us in California. It’s a little like spaghetti sauce, but different. I prepared salad and garlic bread to make our meal complete.

That’s our Monday story!
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
