These emperors are right opposite Blackwell's, the famous Oxford bookshop that has now been bought by Waterstones. I take a very tiny share of the responsibility for that as I haven't been in there for ages - Covid, Blip and housebuilding have blitzed my reading. I went in this morning and realised that I'd forgotten what a treat it is to be surrounded by books.
