Magnolia
The first magnolia flower of spring emerged today. I was concerned that the young tree wouldn't survive the cold winter but it seems fine. The tulip tree is still with us too, but the wisteria isn't looking too promising. I noticed the clematis that has jumped the fence and is partway up a fir tree is showing signs of life too.
Magnolias are pretty and interesting too.about magnolias
I was fascinated to learn about magnolol and honokiol, chemicals which occur in the bark. They are apparently powerful anti-cancer drugs which can also stimulate nerve growth amongst many other properties.
The garden is full of white flowers which are already shedding petals like a slow motion wedding. The birch trees are now suddenly green.
K and E's house almost has new ceilings I am reliably informed.
