Hadrian's Way Cycle Ride - 10 to 12 May 2013

Geoff Proffitt is a Chartered Senior Engineer in our Northallerton Office. A keen cyclist and active rider in the Hambleton Road Club, he was involved in a mountain bike accident on the North York Moors, on 24th November last year. He was descending one of the tracks on the moor when he fell, sustaining damage to his C3 vertebrae. He received assistance from 26 team members, from the Cleveland Mountain Rescue and from Yorkshire Ambulance Service. He was airlifted to hospital in an RAF Sea King. Whilst he is making good progress, he has no feeling or movement from the neck downwards. His wife, daughters and friends are hopeful for improvements in his general condition.

We are having a sponsored Coast to Coast ride across the north of England, following NCN72 "Hadrian's Wall" route - around 180 miles spread over 3 days.

I have hardly been on a bike all year so wish me luck!
