Winter Wonderland...

...but if you are an electrician fixing a connection to the oudoor part of a heat exchanger maybe "wonderland" isn't the adjective you'd choose.
Having been very pleased with a similar heat exchanger in Betty's for the last 12 or so years we decided to fit one to The Red House. Compared to the electrical radiators we have used here before, we think we can keep the background temperature a little warmer (16°C) for about half the cost. If we have guests we can quickly increase to a more comfortable living temperature. And in summer if we get unusually warm weather we can use it for AC too.
There is something magical about a device taking heat from cold air and using it to warm up a house to a comfortable living temperature. The information assures us it will work down to -30°C but the salesman was a little more honest and told us it will work efficiently down to minus 20°C.
Later in the day I had to clear all the snow off the car and drive to town for the last meeting of the election committee. We were looking back to the September election and what we learned from that, and what we would change for the next election. Our next gig will be the EU election in June 2024.
Like the electrician, I wasn't thinking winter "wonderland" as I drove to town and back in the wet, heavy snow!
