A meeting of old friends
Back blip.
A trip to London by train on a Monday morning, after almost 3 years absence. A bit of manic time, Amber to kennels, a walk to the village station, a coffee at Retford, then an Azuma to Kings Cross.
London felt very strange after all this time. I used to visit about half a dozen times a year and did everything on automatic pilot, but had to check things out today. I was pleased that B was with me.
We met up with nursing friends from my years working in North East Thames Region. We have always met on a regular basis and ‘done things’. Today we met at Waterloo Station and headed for the Union Jack Club nearby. We are staying the night and had booked lunch for the group today. A first visit for them which they found fascinating.
I rather stupidly left my glasses at home and only realised when on the way to the station. There wasn’t time to go back for them, so I ended up going back to Waterloo Station about 5 pm to buy a cheap pair of reading glasses, so as to be able to read the messages on my phone.
A busy most enjoyable day. Before the ladies left for home, they all live in the London / Southend area, B took a picture of us in front of a man on a horse !!!! (In extras)
