Let's Do It

A beautiful morning, in complete contrast to yesterday's storms, was ripe for a decent walk.  Pre-planned in anticipation and thankfully I was feeling more energetic today, C and I took the dogs up the valley and walked in the woods above Abergynolwyn.   Only a couple of other dog walkers on the trail well ahead of us, the two Meg's ran themselves almost to a standstill as the woodland trails are entirely livestock free.  The circuit we took brought us to the top of the Alltwyllt incline above Nant Gwernol station, the upper terminus of the Talyllyn Railway.   Beneath the old winding house with some cables still extant over 75 years after the quarries closed, was a place to stop and enjoy the view and we were joined by a very tame robin.   A well spent morning :-)

A quiet afternoon at home with Ruth.   Meg needed a bath after running through one too many muddy puddles and I needed a siesta.  Seeds that I might have planted have the relevant labels written but the light had faded.  A little job for another day.

An evening home alone.  Quite comfortable with that.   A bargain price garlic and herb spatchcock chicken made a tasty meal with plenty left for tomorrow.  I've been well entertained watching An Audience with Victoria Wood, such a rare talent for finding humour in the ordinary and every day stuff of life.  The show closed with perhaps her most famous song, 'Let's Do It'
