Cleawox Lake Backwater Garden

We were fortunate to Kayak on Cleawox Lake during the best part of the day.

The crystal clear water was unruffled by breezes as we got on the water and by the time we left we had wind at our back to push us along back to the take-out.

Fishing was fun but unproductive, so the fish had as much fun as watching our lures go by as we did casting and cranking our fishing equipment.

Our treat was to paddle up the farthest reaches of the lake's "fingers" to the end of the backwaters.

Due to the thick woods on shore these areas are effectively inaccessible except by kayak or canoe.

What a treat to discover the deeply tucked away secret gardens of Cleawox Lake.
