Found this lovely.....

....spike of Butcher's Broom yesterday (photo today!).  It was a plant of my mothers and I love it.  However, for various reasons the garden has been totally neglected this year but it has managed to survive!  In the extra you can see how the leaves transform as they die back.  Very delicate.  Lovely visit from S and eldest grandson E.  He has, at 7 years old, unbounded enthusiasm for many things.  Love him to bits....!
