Giving Thanks

Kim and Ken’s turn to host. We take it in turn, and we hosted Thanksgiving last year.

The turkey is barbecued to perfection. And, of course, there is pumpkin pie (and apple pie). It does seem strange not having college football on the telly in the background — not that I really miss it.

It’s just the core group this year. Seven of us.

The first year we did this you couldn’t buy a decent turkey in New Zealand, but that quickly changed. The bird that year was lean and tough; we didn’t know to brine it for 12 hours before cooking.
