Kalami Bay
We hired a car today and drove north to explore the island. Firstly we drove to Paleokastritsa a beautiful bay where we had a boat trip that explored the caves and bays around. The sea was such an unbelievable turquoise colour. Having spied a fish restaurant from the sea we returned via land to Alipa Bay where we had the most enormous grilled king prawns that were virtually Langoustines or small lobsters . Apparently this is such a good restaurant that recently at an EU summit ministers came here for lunch ! Then we drove on through the mountains until we came down to Kalami Bay. A very picturesque place, quiet and serene where Laurence Durrell lived and his brother Gerald stayed. Their house is rentable for holidays "The White House". Looks lovely - next holiday ?! As we drank an ice cold Coke at the Bay I spied this yacht quietly bobbing on its mooring.
