communication booths were located every 7 miles down the line for the workers and engineers to stay in touch with each other.   This one was found along the Pantano rail line around 1960 when things were modernized.     I thought this might work for Derelict Sunday though I wasn't able to post it yesterday.      Thanks for the wonderful comments, stars and hearts and I will try and get to journals as I can.  thanks everyone!
