Dragon Fly

In Connemara for the weekend, but the weather has not been kind, rain for two days. Visited the the Connemara National Park in between showers and took this blip of an 'installation' at the visitor's centre.

The extras are a sandpiper, and an oystercatcher preening itself, on the shore at Leenane.  Someone I was with was confident that it's a green sandpiper, and not a common sandpiper, and I'll take their word for it as I'm not sure I can tell the difference --- the markings are much lighter than in my bird book, but maybe it's winter and/or juvenile plumage?

PS: as Annejohn comments below it's a greenshank and not a sandpiper.
