Slavonian Grebe

On the Loch of Harray. I saw 3 but a friend counted 30 when surveying the whole loch. These little birds do not breed here in Orkney but in Northern Fenno-Scandia (!). Their breeding plumage is spectacular, but even in their winter colours they are attractive. Didn't see an otter or the great white egret today but surprised to get two warblers. I think they were chiffchaffs but just awaiting confirmation from a more expert friend. The extra is of a raven on one of the standing stones of the Ring of Brodgar.
