Little piece of history

This is one of the doorways at All Saints Church opposite St Luke's Hospital. Friends who accompanied me to Venice know that I have a fascination for old doors and door handles/knockers etc (strange woman!). Spotted this door whilst on my lunchtime walk, and was interested in the shields on the stone columns at either side. Walking around the building I noticed other shields on different parts of the building - must do a bit of research.
