Reluctant

I have to forcefully go to the office every Wednesday to socialise with my office colleagues. I used to happily do this before till I was criticised for even laughing and on responding told ‘this is what you should work on?!’. So I did what nonna told me to do and kept my head down and worked. This works better for me as I finish more things and even all the meetings.

A colleague mentioned that he is sensing I am avoiding, but how do I tell him that I am confused and upset on how is it that I am required to engage? Each word I utter is related to my position, ‘you are a junior employee and s/he is a senior’. Nonna’s advice is gold I think.
