a break in the rain...

...finds the finches waiting

for what - i'm not sure...

they could've had their pick of worms - in the newly wet ground - but there they gathered - in the little tree - blowing in the wind - waiting...

i think - for the next round of rain perhaps... because no sooner had i snapped this shot - than did it begin to rain again - coming down in torrents - with the wind picking up - ruffling their little feathers like there'd be no tomorrow - and they hung on to the slim branch - not giving up the post... i did take some pics of them - obviously though they turned out in utter streaks of blurriness -

i wish i knew how to take a photo of the rain coming down - if i could have a record of those sheets of water - falling from the sky - that would be a cool thing... but alas - it wasn't meant to be - all i have is these little ones - waiting - hoping - getting their break and then hanging on - sometimes it's all we can do - it's enough to make for...
