Day 128 of 365 - Holy Trinity Church!

Welcome to day 128 of 365 (Finished image after Editing)

The original photo was taken this evening while waiting for my daughter to finish her Choir service at Coventry Cathedral. It is of Holy Trinity Church in the Cathedral quarter in the city centre of Coventry. The original church was built about the beginning of the 12th century. It seems that the church was built as a side chapel for the much larger Benedictine Priory of St Mary (the First of Coventry's Three Cathedral's) which was next door to Holy Trinity and founded by Earl Leofric and Lady Godiva. During the Mid 13th Century the church was nearly completely destroyed in a fire, the only part of the original church to survive was the North Porch (which survives to this day). During the 15th Century the painting of the Last Judgement was created above the tower arch. This is now considered to be most impressive Doom wall-painting now remaining in an English church. One of the many famous local people known to attend Holy Trinity over the years was Mary Ann Evans, the 19th century novelist better known by her pen name of George Eliot.

The Church is classed as a Grade I listed building. The Church is number 8 on my list of 19 (Grade I) Listed buildings in Coventry that I hope to photograph.

As always the shot was taken with my iPhone 5. The photo was taken using the camera App Huemore for iPhone. The original image can be found here: Unedited original Image.

First of all I used the app Perfectly Clear to brighten the image. The edits were made by applying the Fix Dark preset to the image. Next I used the App Wood Camera to edit the image further, this was done by cropping the image and adding the Birds to the picture using Frame 14. I also adjusted the Saturation, brightness and Contrast. Finally I used Distressed FX to add extra texture to the image using the Stirred overlay and the Lade Texture.
