MEET OUR NEW FRIEND, LEIGHTON

Hello Lovely Blippers,

I’m sure you’re surprised to see me on a Wednesday - but when we heard that Mr HCB was going to Leightons this afternoon to see Adam for a hearing check, some of us jumped into Mrs HCB’s bag.  We always love going to see “the Girls” there - and today we decided to take them a little gift for Christmas. 

We know that some of them love chocolate - so we decided to take them a box of chocolate biscuits. We didn’t bother to wrap it up because we thought that they would enjoy having one with their afternoon cup of tea, but one of the girls was away today, so they said they would wait until tomorrow, otherwise she might be upset!

We were very surprised to see a bear, sitting on one of the desks, and asked what he was called – of course, it was Leighton!  Kate, who is the “Head Honcho” there said that he had popped into the shop, and as he had heard we may be calling in, decided to stay.  Kate asked if we had room for another bear in our Silly Saturday Gang and we said of course - there’s always room for one more, especially as Hoggy is about to hibernate for the winter. Leighton was delighted and said he was sure he would fit in with the gang - as he had had lots of practice at being silly, especially in the Swindon shop because most of the people there seem to have a “silly streak” - not that we would tell them that, of course! 

We were hoping they would have a Christmas display because Elvis the Elf was with us but sadly it wasn’t as good as last year because some of their decorations got damaged, but Wendy managed to find a Father Christmas that Kate had made last year. 


However, we gathered around and in their little Christmas tree and I’m sure you can see Laura Lamb, Baby Jay, Hoggy me and Elvis, who was in rather a precarious position next to Leighton.  One little boy who was in shop with his Mum, choosing some glasses, was quite taken with Elvis and said he knew all about the Elf on the Shelf, so he wasn’t surprised that Elvis was getting up to mischief.  We had lots of fun with the girls and Adam, when he had finished with Mr HCB and hope you like the collage that Mrs HCB made.  

As Leighton was wearing a pair of very special Etnia Barcelona glasses, he wanted to pose near the display and it’s a shame Mrs HCB isn’t in the shot, as she has a pair of those glasses too!  We were hoping that we could sing some carols around the tree, but there were quite a lot of customers in the shop, so we decided that perhaps that would be a bit too much of a shock.  

We hope you are all having a good week - we are just about to tell the rest of the Silly Saturday Gang all about our little outing today - some of them were quite upset that they couldn’t come, but I explained that as we are such a big gang now - and even bigger now that Leighton has joined us - it would be just too much to take them all.
