"Ask for Grosvenor"

This window is on a building next door to the Grosvenor Hotel. Maybe it used to be part of the Grosvenor. Who knows? But I like the flaking paint and the old fashioned font on it.

It reminds me of the 1970's and 80's, when no one seemed to care when people got blind drunk, and then drove home.
And of course, there was the Six O'clock Swill, when the pubs and bars closed at 6pm, so the men would go there after work, and get bladdered before 6pm, then go home and beat the crap out of the missus.

Those days are over.

Now one can get bladdered at any time of the day or night, and beat the crap out of anyone who looks at them the wrong way.
