Norwegian Centre
(1/12/22)
It's the weekend, and it's busy with engagements. First off was an SA meeting at the Norwegian Seamen's Centre where we used to meet until COVID hit. It was GREAT to be in there after three years. They have made some improvements, the best of which was a "reel" showing Bible stories from Genesis to Revelation. A fantastic visual aid and conversation starter. It was a joint meeting, so we got to see our friends from Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, whom we hadn't seen in ages. Our hosts gave us coffee and homemade cinnamon rolls, and the SA gave us pizza!
We came home for lunch and a rest, and then we went out again, this time for FAME held in one of the ballrooms at DWTC. If you're wondering what FAME is, it stands for (Fashion, Art, Music & Entertainment) and is an event were special needs "kids" get to shine. IT was fantastic to watch them interacting with a "normal" world. It was great to see them doing their best, but one couldn't help being thankful for just being ordinary.
We finished the day by eating a pizza (again) at the Capri. The car was parked close to it, and at 10 PM, we were hungry! G was up for a ride in the car, so we drove all the way to Chicago Beach to fill the car with petrol!! I would have come home via Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, but even I was flagging by this stage! Any idea of catching up on blips was soon out the window!
