Another little treasure

We went to my favorite Alsatian village, Eguisheim. While it goes back to pre-Roman era, its first castle was built in 720.

What i love about it is that it is entirely concentric (you can never get lost!) and enclosed within its own fortifications. It boasts the traditional, colorful, post and beam houses along narrow cobblestone streets. Since 2003, it has regularly made the list of the French people’s most favorite village :)

Because of its unique shape, it is the only village you can easily recognize from the plane as you fly over the area.
