The Washington Monument

What a difference a day makes. Today, the skies were a cloudless brilliant blue. The waxing moon was cool to see next to the monument. 
Massive thanks to JohnGravett for suggesting peak focusing! Although I have been shooting in manual mode for the past 4 years, I have been using auto-focus. I found that the manual mode was too subjective for me. This morning I read John Gravett's suggestion about peak focusing. It was a new term for me, so I looked it up. A youtube tut showed me how to peak focus with my camera and add a shortcut to my "I" menu. What a game-changer!!
That was the coolest feeling to be able to focus exactly where I wanted.
