It is Friday
The jazz gigs at Burgundy's go on but we are still missing Ted who is now recovering in hospital. Last night as well, Susie who generally does the raffle had to leave early so for the first time there was no raffle.
David Currington, took an executive decision and decided to auction a bunch of rhubarb that was meant to have been in the raffle. In an exciting bidding fury the rhubarb was sold for £5.00 - quite expensive but just a display of commitmant that the show must go on!
But it was a joy to have Peter Major (keyboards), Laurence Canty (double bass), Peter Boocock (drums) and Dave Lee (reeds). And especially so as Dave is still recovering from a back operation - his back is still painfull but his lungs are doing fine!
He was telling us how he had not had any lessons - so entirely self taught - learning by listening - such talent. At least I thought I could sketch but then he tells me that he was an art teacher!!
