GOLDEN

I think these are Golden Plovers, part of a sizeable flock I'd just watched wheeling around and then landing at the mouth of the Tees Estuary, although my book says "Only in the most severe weather will they move to the seashore". I've seen them in previous years a mile or so further up the estuary so perhaps, like me, they were just getting some sea air before heading inland. They look more golden in large.
