Walk in the woods

We didn't want to drive far today so we decided to visit the Weardale Tourist Railway at Bishop Aukland BUT when we arrived we discovered it closed last year! Quick look at the map and a visit to Raby Castle. It was closed when we arrived! Another look on the map and we headed for Middleton in Teesdale (where we thought "it is sure to be raining by the time we arrive" but a little break in the clouds followed us all the way so we travelled a bit further up the road to High Force (At least it couldn't be closed.) The walk through the woods was delightful with so many beautiful mosses and flowers - bluebells, aconites, violets and wild strawberry and this "Shamrock"? (Not sure what it is.) High force was in full flow and we managed some "Holiday snaps" there but thought this shot rather pretty. It was nearly 50 miles to get back to our tin tent!
