Palace of Arts
Dodging the showers, I walked across Newcastle to Exhibition Park. Originally called Bull Park, his was laid out for the Royal Mining Engineering Jubilee Exhibition in 1887, which attracted over 2,000,000 visitors. Then the North East Coast Exhibition of Industry, Science and Art was held in 1929. The only remaining building is the Palace of Arts, used by Wylam Brewery since 2016, with an excellent tap room.
I also walked across the Tyne Bridge, with some great views down on to the City and around the centre of Gateshead..
