Return to Woodhead

After yesterday's washout I felt obliged to return to Woodhead in Longdendale to show it on a better day.

Some very heavy showers during the day but better when I walked the length if Woodhead Reservoir and back from the Dam to the tunnels (not quite to the tunnels just till I had sight of them).

This is a view looking NE across to Pike Naze. The endless Friday traffic trundling over the Woodhead Pass (A628) on the far side.

There is a colony of nesting Black-headed gulls out of view left around 250 of them - very noisy - more noisy than the traffic.

Saw a few nicer birds as well !
