Boy Dragon with sword!

It is not every day you get to see someone dressed as a dragon and willing to wield a sword for your photography. I showed him and his mom the back of my camera. They were very sweet but I think he genuinely did like it and was possibly surprised to see himself in B&W.

One of the advantages that Russia has over Ukraine is that it is willing to hit inside Ukraine (duh) and it is willing to hit civilians. US and other allies have deliberately not given Ukraine weapons that could shoot into Russia and we made Ukraine promise not to use the weapons we gave them to do so. We are hoping to avoid WWIII this way. As Ukraine has shown that they honor these agreements, we have begun giving them weapons with longer range.

Ukraine can use its own weapons as it wants though. Yesterday it blew up bombers in Russia's Engels air base and a fuel tanker at an airfield near Ryazan. Ukrainian presidential advisor Mikhailo Podolyak tweeted, "If something is launched into other countries' airspace, sooner or later unknown flying objects will return to departure point."

A charity event by the Estonian and Ukrainian embassies in Great Britain, with help from Benedict Cumberbatch and Jude Law, raised money that was used to buy three ambulances. They were adapted to work in difficult conditions. They have arrived in Ukraine.

At the end of November Serbia gave Ukraine two ambulances.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down one of Russia's Ka-52 helicopters on Sunday.

The Estonian Refugee Council will provide financial assistance to Ukrainian citizens. Priority is given to people who have completely lost their homes and single parents with minor children, or families who need expensive treatment.

Most of the countries in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe support Ukraine's initiative to create a special tribunal to prosecute Russia.

Ukraine destroyed a Russian electronic warfare system that was jamming communications.

With the winter, supplies and morale could make the difference. Cold, miserable people don't want to do anything. If so, Ukraine wins, because Ukraine has the morale, and thanks to her allies her soldiers have what they need for winter. There was a report by Channel 4 News that ended in a well-prepared, deep-dug warm bunker complete with kitten to hunt down mice. Canada is sending 500,000 items of winter clothing. Germany sent 100,000 jackets. Britain sent 25,000 full sets. The Nordic countries contributed, hopefully Icelandic wool sweaters. Russian soldiers have to buy their own thermal gear and sleeping bags.
