Superbaby

My Dad (now rebranded Grandad in our house which it still feels weird saying) plays a game with Audrey where he holds her over his head and says, "Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No...it's Superbaby!!"

Audrey loves it and chuckles away mid flight. I play it with her sometimes but she looks at me disdainfully as if to say, "That's me and Grandad's game, Mum!"

The funny thing is I can remember him playing this with my younger sister Laura (who turns thirty next week!) when she was a baby. Like it was only yesterday.

And on raiding my Mum's photo album recently looking at pictures of me the same age as Audrey, what did I spot? My Dad playing Superbaby (at a guess) with me. See blip pic.

Met Mum and Dad for lunch today. I needed a break. They were great. Despite being out for a 'relaxing' day themselves, they fed her, amused her and even let me go off and do my weekly food shop while they pushed her round John Lewis in the pram.

I so appreciated it. They are amazing with Audrey and help me (unpaid) at home a day each week so that I can work. They never grumble or complain, despite often sitting in traffic for an hour plus to get to mine sometimes.

I guess you never stop needing your parents. You never stop loving them either.
