Derelict Killearn Hospital

After meeting friend Helen for coffee at Oakwood this morning, I pulled in off the road to investigate one of the derelict bungalows that had originally been part of Killearn Hospital during the Second World War.

I remember driving an acquaintance out from Glasgow to visit her elderly mother who was a patient there in 1971, which wasn't long before the hospital closed.

Most of the prefabs, covering a wide area, were demolished, but a few were left and gradually vandalised over the years. A few more can be seen in the background.
