Luxembourg

We're off to Luxembourg today, courtesy of CaitlinA. Many thanks for the contribution to our blipper-sourced online album of photographs of locations associated with Lorna Lloyd and her Diary of the war (previously blipped in full in the LornaL journal, and now available as a podcast series).

Lorna Lloyd mentions Luxembourg in her Diary of the war once, on May 10th 1940. This is one of the most dramatic days that Lorna chronicles in her war diary. At dawn on this date, Hitler invaded Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands and France. By the evening there was a new British prime minister: 65 year-old Winston Churchill.  Listen to Lorna's reaction to this news in Episode 6 of our podcast series of the Diary of the war, starring Lorna's great-great niece actress Bethany Ray as her great-great aunt.
