Sit Down or Stand Up

Bill Moyers: "What saved you, spiritually, inwardly?"

Writer Sherman Alexie: "Storytelling... The age old stories start with a sacred nostalgia and keeping all the ghosts alive, keeping all the memories alive. If you tell a story well enough everybody in it is right there, so nobody ever dies."

Tonight was our second "Moth" storytelling event of the year where members of our community shared stories about moments where they choose to "stand up" or "sit down" for something they believe. I could write about it for pages and wouldn't be able to stop, so I'll summarize in three words (one borrowed from Cecile!): humanity, bravery, connections.
