Another Funeral

We attended a friend’s mother’s funeral today, it seems it is the only time I wear a suit and tie these days.

She died a year after her husband, with both reaching 90+ years of age and 70 years of marriage.  For the last 15 years of their life they were living in an annexe to their daughter and son-in- law’s house and were supported as their health gradually deteriorated.  Such selflessness on our friends’ part to care for the couple, allowing them to live out their lives in their own home rather than needing the care offered in a nursing home.  

It was a celebration of life, to catch up with friends and share in memories of a thoroughly lovely lady, who brightened any room she entered.
