Winter wonderland

Thin layer of snow this morning. As I was preparing my breakfast I saw one of the newborn calves was having his. The scene looked a bit subdued but shortly after, I saw two of the calves running about, playing. They're ok of course, this is normal.

Later in the morning I had a student and we had a good time listening to some music and then he asked: "how do you know what key a song is in?", so we discussed that for a while and tested the ideas in a few songs. He's good att finding the key, partly because he is a singer in a choir and is used to using his voice and ears simultaneously, which helped him to get the right answer even though he thought he couldn't do it. He did believe it in the end though and we can go on to finding out which chords you could expect to find in a key. Fun lessons.

After lunch we,  the new project group, had a first meeting on how to deal with our project of creating a hommage-show for one of our singers and actors that passed away a couple of weeks ago, Sven-Bertil Taube. Our new band met over a cup of coffee, for the first time to look at possible songs to do and decide on rehearsing meetings. The concert isn't until May so there's plenty of time but some things has to be started now. For instance; we have to present a concert-poster with A-B's face and our names before we even know what to play, a week ago we didn't even have a group of musicians. Now, we think it's going to be a fine show.
