A Winter's Day - A Blue day
We were up early this morning, and into town. Jan was giving some blood and I was visiting the dental hygienist, and then we were having breakfast with Rose.
Post-dentist and pre-breakfast I took a walk down to the northern sound in town to see if the ice had formed on the sea. As you can see it has. (Just now it's -14°C.)
The smoke comes from the district heating centre that provides most of the town with hot water and heating. A sad thought that came to me was that in a war one strike on that centre and the people of Härnösand would be without heating or warm water, as are many in Ukraine.
One of the reasons for taking this picture, apart from the beauty of the scene, is that this may be the last we see of the ice before it disappears under the snow that is forecast to arrive tomorrow.
Incidentally, tonight is a full moon and if you can go out and look at it you will see Mars, a bit to the left of the moon. Mars will "chase" the moon all night until about 5 o'clock GMT when it will disappear behind the moon. At that point the sun, Earth, moon and Mars will all be lined up. Mars will reappear an hour later.
Changes - I've a more wintry selfie as my new blip avatar, and also published yesterday's blip as a backblip!
