We took Mr W's brother to Salisbury Christmas Market today - it was less than impressive. It was billed as Christmas in the Square, with a frost bar, Santa's Grotto, food stalls and gifts to buy. The frost bar was there but closed, Santa's Grotto was there but Santa wasn't, there were a few food stalls but nothing else at all. The giant bauble was the most exciting thing we saw in Salisbury.
However...
Now, as you read this, please bear in mind that I’ve been driving (or been driven) across Salisbury Plain to visit family since I was knee-high to a grass hopper, and the most exciting thing we’ve ever seen is a single, solitary field gun. Part way across the Plain on our way from Salisbury to Devizes we saw, on the right, 3 tracked vehicles waiting to cross the road and, on the left, we saw a very low-flying plane dropping packages suspended on parachutes!!
There was, of course, nowhere to stop and whip the camera out..
