The Lakes

We were up early, my son and I walked around to my dad’s, and rang him from outside to say happy birthday. He asked where we were and showed him his front door on the camera! Yes it really was a surprise birthday visit, he had no idea we were coming.
We decided to go up to Lakeland Motor Museum at Back Barrow. What a brilliant place, my son and dad really loved it. The cafe on the river is really good too. We then went for a beer at the Brown Horse in Winster. I the evening, the whole family went for dinner at Trungs, the best Chinese Vietnamese restaurant. A really lovely time. A few of us had another drink, a Glühwein at the Royal before walking back up the hill to my brothers.
Did I mention that the weather was incredible? Clear, v cold, bright sun and not a breath of wind.
