My old friend Shirley

I met Shirley 31 years ago, she was one of the Sierra Club leaders. Now she is walking one mile a day with a cane. I took her home and before I left I asked if I could take her photo. She wanted it taken here be the mailboxes, because that's where she fell two years ago and broke her hip.It's too bad, because some of the leaders are still leading hikes and I am planning to go on one of the easier hikes myself in two weeks. She was one of the first people I had met in the hiking group. She was so welcoming and she made an impression on me, because I also became a leader right after that.
