FROSTY FRIDAY

I didn’t think there would be many flowers after the very heavy frosts the last two nights and I was right.  However, there was still lots of beauty in the garden. My first stop was our acer and this looked wonderful against the blue fence, so made this my main shot.

Next stop was the cabbages - many of these have been eaten by caterpillars, despite being covered by Mr. HCB, but we may be able to salvage some leaves and many of them have grown quite large - see first extra.  

Then as I walked back indoors, I passed the arch with the passion flower and must admit that I did inspect it rather well, thinking of Deanna as I did so.  I was sorry not to find a flower, but think she might have liked the shot I did take - another extra. 

It’s a sunny day, but I don’t think all the frost will go - at least, not in the shade.  I have a meeting at 4 o’clock today, so Mr. HCB has kindly said he will take me out for lunch so that I don’t have to bother to cook when I get home, which probably won’t be until about 6 o’clock - he is so kind and I really do appreciate his kind thought.

I have just a few Christmas cards to write before we go out - we don’t send many, and especially with the cost of postage and the imminent postage strikes, so will be donating to a couple of small charities that often get forgotten, so if you don’t get a card from us, please don’t be offended, but know that we will be thinking of you and we wish you all a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas.
