Queen's Arms

Later today we return to Aberdeen. There is time for a wander around in the morning before lunch.

We passed The Oxford (in the extra), a pub made famous as Rebus frequents it in Ian Rankin's books. I have been in on a previous occasion, but not today; it was too early even had I been inclined to go inside.

We had lunch at the Queen's Arms. The subject of the main picture. (One of the guards seems to have misplaced his staff). After lunch we returned to the hotel for an hour or so before leaving Edinburgh. The bus was full as far as Dundee. The sun was setting as we left Dundee, so the latter part of the journey was in darkness.

It was raining when we arrived in Aberdeen, rain which turned to snow later.
