Cycling on the Ice

Helsinki today. Shot into the freezing light and low lying mist. Temperature when we left home was minus 8.5. It may have been two degrees warmer in the capital but I have never seen these conditions down by the music hall before.
Not only is all public transport running but as you can see people are still scooting about on their bicycles.
The journey home was delayed by ten minutes or so as the railwaymen sorted out the coupling between the two halves of the train. It was frozen solid and they had a bit of a job getting it working but the train ran as they pretty well always do on days like this.
