Never too old
To be caught up in all the glittering lights.. I went up to Cork tonight as I'd received an invitation to a gathering at City Hall, to mark the 130th anniversary of the library service in Cork City. I wouldn't normally head up to something like that, but I'm starting to think of retirement and the city library was where I first worked, just after school. I started there in December 1976, almost 50 years ago. So I felt a sense of life's wheels turning, slowly, inexorably. I met a share of people from over the years tonight. We all looked amazing. Well maybe the eyesight isn't what it was... Glad I went.
