Ice Lollipop
It was another frosty start, though maybe a tad warmer than yesterday, as I headed over to Petworth House to view the Christmas Festival of Trees set up in the main rooms of the house before heading out into the wider estate in search of anything which took my eye.
The visit started well with a bed of hydrangea covered in frost (extra), which was a strong candidate for today's Flower Friday challenge, but looking closer I spotted clumps of fungi, mainly bonnets or mycena, poking their heads through the bark chips and leaves, all with a frosting of ice. However, I rather liked these baby ones, possibly one of the waxcaps, so they are my choice for today's blip.
The rest of the day continued to meet expectations with beautifully decorated trees in the house, and a lovely walk round the lake enjoying Capability Brown's views, complete with an encounter with some stags and a topped off with sights of the setting sun over the water.
It was a good day.
