Frozen threads

Woke to a cold room 13°C.  Heating only just kicking in. Stayed in bed a bit longer until significantly warmer.

Hot chocolate, toast and croissant breakfast.  Held off morning dog walk.  Outdoor thermometer read -4°C and pavements visibly icy.  Variety of birds seeking food: crows, magpies, bluetits, great tits, starlings,  blackbirds, robins and the squirrels. 

Had dog walk after 1.30pm.  Very cold, frost has made its mark into treetops.  The grass is crispy from several days of being frozen.  Very few walkers but quite a few cars out.  Didn't stay out too long as it was bitterly cold. 

Now going to curl up with a hot drink and finish a book.
