The dropped stitch

Tree lighting in the village

It was a good evening for this annual event. Last year's was very low key but this evening there was a good gathering of people to enjoy mulled 'wine' and mince pies and listen to carols played by the Salvation Army band.

The square was temporarily closed for the crowd to gather round the tree and listen to the Minister say a few words. Then Father Christmas appeared and handed out sweets to the many dashing around youngsters.
