Frozen solid

Christmas roses under frozen snow. The temperature failed to rise above  freezing today!

A lengthy phone call to the bank first thing. Late yesterday evening I attempted to order the last couple of Christmas presents online, as  nothing suitable is available locally. Had no idea why three attempts to pay all failed to "authenticate". Nor did the young lady I spoke with at the bank! Eventually she passed the problem on to a techie, and assured me that all would be well within a couple of hours. It was , thank goodness.

After that used the chicken carcass from yesterday's roast to make  chicken and vegetable soup for lunch.

A bitty but productive afternoon. Was hoping to wrap the cake ready to send to Tom and Lucy, but made the mistake of walking down to Florin, a nice gift shop, and spent too long chatting with Julie. Not enough time to catch the post by the time I got home. Will have to wait until Friday now to avoid the PO strikes. Never mind!

Feeling irritated with our estate agent. As yet they've failed to answer my email, sent several days ago, requesting an update about the flat sale...
